Good thinking so far. Looks like you guys got it covered. Atm I don't have any ideas to contribute really, so I'll leave the last spot open for now.

We can have somebody wave the flag on the raft. And a large pot filled with dirt should do it. I don't want to do anything that will be dangerous or ridiculous.
Still, I have created a floating fire before.

Remind me friends, what the suitcase looks like. Somebody show me an image just so I can be clear what we have in mind.

I think Semhar said the suitcase would be bright and colourful like a neon type colour.

Alright. So we can pile dirt on the raft and rest the largest pan in it to create a fire, using firewood and more dirt beneath to stop it from becoming too hot. That creates our floating fire. Then somebody on the raft can use a blanket to waft the smoke whilst another person waves a flag tied to one of the oars made out of a second blanket.
We create a sign on the tarp using the fruit skins and dyes as everybody suggested, rocks are there to hold the tarp down.
We still have three oars remaining, buckets and a couple of pots and pans.

Also we have no actual use for the suitcase yet but it's been suggested we tear it up to draw attention to the sign?

I don't want to do too much with this but my mind is full of ideas. Can we use one half of the case to also fill with sand? It will ensure that the fire on the raft is double layered. We fill the broken case with sand and embed the pan in it also full of sand and firewood to create the torch.

I like that idea Coach sounds brilliant. I am thinking of some more ideas for oars and pots & pans

So far I'm really impressed with what everyone has come up with!
I'll think of things and post

The sand in the pan wouldn't be so high as to make a realistic torch, it would line the bottom only. It might even be necessary to not have sand in the pan at all. I'll remove it for now.

Not sure if this is a good idea, but if we had pots and pans left we could have our tribe members using the oars to hit the pots and pans to make loud noises? Not sure if they would be heard from a plane, but it is possible that if a boat is in the ocean and hears some banging after seeing smoke they would go to it. I just think that would be creative, as I think the other tribes will be thinking visually and this is something to listen too
